Discover the turquoise waters of Lac de Ste Croix, its secluded coves and wild nature

Swim and dive in some of the purest water in Europe.

In the heart of the Verdon Regional Park, close to the Grand Canyon, BAUDUEN is a small Provencal village, set against the cliffs,
bathed in the emerald waters of Lac de Ste Croix.

BAUDUEN boasts a unique, sunny, south-facing setting, with its narrow streets, squares, fountain, supervised beach, Sunday market and shops.

Bauduen is practically sunny all year round, thanks to the microclimate created by the 2,200-hectare lake. In summer, sailboats, rowboats, windsurfers and pedalos ply the emerald waters, where bathers dive with delight.

All year round, Bauduen is a privileged place for hikers, among olive trees, oak or pine forests, fishermen, and all lovers of peace and nature.

The village of Bauduen boasts one of the most beautiful environments on earth. Leaning against a steep hillside, this village, so typical of Provence, has been directly on the banks of the lake since the Sainte Croix dam was impounded.

With a population of 337, the village welcomes holidaymakers keen on water sports and hiking in an exemplary setting. This is now the main source of income for what was previously a farming village. Located in the heart of the Verdon Regional Park, Bauduen boasts unspoilt landscapes offering exceptional walks for all nature lovers. The scents of Provence await you. Sailboats or pedalos can take you out on the emerald waters of Lac de Sainte-Croix, but a small, welcoming beach is just the thing for a more peaceful sunbath!

A typical Provencal village from medieval times, Bauduen has preserved its arched layout around a rocky outcrop over the centuries. The picturesque narrow streets, lined with houses some of which still feature mullioned windows, reveal a wealth of evidence of its long history.

You'll discover the Romanesque church of St. Peter and St. Paul, as well as ramparts and a tower dating back to the 15th century. But also an ancient oil mill, whose walls are part of the village's former fortified castle.
